Don't get SCAMMED!
Locksmith's In Washington Tyne and Wear can be very expensive if you do not shop around. We heard a horror story that cost the customer in Harraton over £500. We were shocked to find out that they had been locked out after coming home from the pub. The customer went to Google and the first number that came up he called but it was a paid add by Google and the locksmith company was from London and used an out of the area con man, oh wait I mean locksmith who charged a hidden call out fee of £100 and a labour charge of £190 per hour on double time and then they charged £60 for a £25 lock and then insisted they needed the gearbox changing at another £340 on top and VAT on top of that.
Rightly the customer told him to get stuffed and he would find another locksmith. His wife called Taylors and we came out and found the door had just dropped, once we lifted the door, they keys worked and we serviced it and reset the door. We only charged £65 and put the other locksmith to shame.
Morel of the story is that you only use local traders, go to Google maps and use the local businesses listed, support your local tradesmen and that money gets spent in our community.
