About Washington Locksmith

Washington Locksmith Service has been a consistent and trustworthy Locksmith Service in the Tyne and Wear area since 2000. However our roots in locksmithing go back to 1946 and our official date of business was March 3rd 1948 when our founder the late John Taylor opened our first shop in Gateshead. We are Taylors Locksmiths of Washington known as Washington Locksmith Service but we cover all of the Tyne and Wear area.

We are a 3rd generation master locksmith business and the oldest in the Northeast of England.

We are part of the Guild of the Master Locksmiths, City and Guilds trained. Full DBS  checked and work alongside local police and fire services.

Washington Locksmith Service are proud to be a master locksmiths which means we have more than ten years of experience in locksmithing, each of our locksmiths are trained to the highest standard in the UK and have no criminal records, are full CRB / DBS checked and carry a full insurance, we are trusted tradesmen that work with local council, police and emergency services along with solicitors to landlords and estate agents.

All of our locksmiths use body worn cameras and high visibility jackets and carry full ID with secure line for you to check their ID.

We only fit British Standard to make sure we don't invalidate your home insurance. Other locksmith fit cheap locks that don't last long and will void your insurance and could stop you been reinsured for home, car or life insurance as you will have committed insurance fraud.

Washington Locksmith Service are also GMLUK Qualified locksmiths, we have also undertaken the Master Locksmith Award which is a 9 year locksmith training program.

Safe Contractor Approved is a scheme and award that is operated by the Guild of Master Locksmiths UK (GMLUK) for locksmith businesses in the UK. When a locksmith trains via our recommended training schools they will undertake a business course and in that course they will undertake the S.C.A.UK training program which is a training program to help prevent locksmiths from becoming rouge traders and to help them navigate business related issues which can adversely effect them and there clints. The training includes learning about consumer law in the UK, fair contract agreements,  health and safety, risk management dealing with policies and procedures and so much more.

 

As part of the course they will setup business insurance and public liability insurance for the locksmiths business. The locksmith will also go through our strict vetting criteria and under go a DBS Data Barring Service Check then they can opt into also being independently check by the UK Government. Vetting is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV), which is part of the Cabinet Office Government Security Group and the Government Security Function.
